Providing Holland International Dirk Kuyt doesn't fail a medical which seems unlikely, he will become a Liverpool player in a day or two's time for a reported fee of around £9 million After a disappointing World Cup where big things were expected of him he has a lot to prove to pundits and fans alike that he can cut it at a higher level. His scoring record for Feyenoord is second to none 71 goals in 101 games. However a certain Mateja Kezman springs to mind as his scoring record for PSV was better than that off Kuyt's if you asked Kezman if he made the right move he will tell you no as his stay at Premiership champions Chelsea was a brief and frustrating one and because of that he had to make a step backwards in his career.I am not for one minute saying this will happen to Kuyt i am just saying it can happen. On the other hand there must be something about Kuyt as Marco Van Basten the manager of Holland and perhaps the greatest striker to pull on the orange shirt of Holland rates him very highly, so highly in fact that he has dropped the prolific striker Ruud Van Nstelrooy from the squad all together. Also the fact that he was the main transfer target of the summer for the likes of Newcastle and other clubs abroad proves he can't be that bad a player. So will he be a success at Liverpool only time will tell but i have a feeling he will be a flop. What are your thoughts Liam/new members?

i agree. im not too confident that he will be a success and youre right in drawing comparisons with mateja kezman. i dont see him challenging players like henry for the golden boot with 25-30 goals.

I agree too. He had a poor world cup aswell. Don't think he'll challenge for the golden boot like you say.
